CBD and Insomnia

Insomnia is a sleep disorder that causes individuals to have a hard time falling asleep or staying asleep. Statistically about 1 in 4 Americas will develop insomnia each year. In addition to that 95% of Americans experience insomnia at least once in their life. The lack of sleep causes many negative effects such as restlessness, irritability, depression and anxiety. A way to combat against insomnia is with cannabidiol, more commonly known as CBD.

CDB Products for Insomnia

Given the more prevalence of CBD in America, many products can be used as an aid in restless nights and help you further sleep through the night.

  • Tincture

  • Edibles

  • Vapes

These three CBD products provide a great deal of relief for those who suffer from insomnia. So lets break down these products and see how they provide insomniac relief.

Tincture

CBD tinctures are the quickest method of use because they have the quickest absorption rate. A study conducted in 2019 titled Cannabidiol in Anxiety and Sleep, found that cortisol levels decreased more significantly when participants consumed CBD. Hence forth suggesting that CBD affects the release of cortisol, possibly acting as a sedative.

Edibles

Indulging in a sweet or savory snack before bed is always a pleasure, now add some CBD to amplify that relaxation. Typically CBD edibles come in segments or pieces so the consumer can easily dose themselves properly. More common than not, the typical dose recommend to start with for edibles is 25 mg. Given that it is a food product, it does take some time to digest until you can feel the effects, typically 30 minutes to 2 hours.

Vapes

CBD vapes are another great way to receive fast acting effects. The bioavailability; which is just how much CBD is absorbed in your blood stream, is the hight with vapes. The absorption rate ranges anywhere from 40 to 50 percent.
