Cannabidiol (CBD) has been proven time and time again to be a great remedy to helping relieve anxiety. CBD has a novel role in the management of anxiety to its actions on the endocannabinoid system. The study Cannabidiol as a Potential Treatment for Anxiety Disorders conducted by a team of four neuroscientists concluded that CBD interacts with the cannabinoid type 1 receptor (CB1R), the serotonin 5-HT1A receptor, and other receptors in the brain that regulate fear and anxiety-induced behaviors.
Having said that, CBD has broad therapeutic properties across a spectrum of neuropsychiatric disorders. CBD helps ease anxiety by assisting the body to process serotonin. The process by which this occurs is similar to that of serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI).
